Bio

What’s your role at AICCRA and the journey that led you here?

As a Professor of Geography and Sustainable Development with research focus on land systems and sustainable land management, I am experienced in analysing the interactions between land use and management, natural resources and ecosystem functioning, land governance, and how to foster sustainability in land systems. I draw on this experience as well as those gained in science-policy-practice platforms to help steer AICCRA's activities through scientific advice.

Tell us why you think AICCRA can deliver on a climate-smart future for Africa:

I believe AICCRA's inclusive research and development approaches will strengthen social and ecological resilience to climate variability and climate change for various social actors in Africa.
