This AGRF side-event features a totally new kind of program for resilience and food security in Africa.

The event will highlight the launch of the $716 million West Africa Food System Resilience Program (FSRP), a new kind of program for food security in Africa.

FSRP is a game-changing innovation, providing long-term investment to address root causes of persistent food insecurity in the region, addressing structural challenges that increase preparedness against food insecurity, and improve the systemic resilience of food systems.

FSRP represents a long-term commitment from The World Bank to members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), spread over more than a decade. FSRP empowers countries to prioritize investment in sustainable initiatives that share knowledge and build infrastructure, all the while enhancing capacity and collaboration between national and regional institutions in West Africa.

FSRP actively collaborates with and builds on impact of existing World Bank initiatives in the region, such as Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA).

This side event will debate the transformative changes, share experiences of partners, explore opportunities for south-south collaboration, and highlight how complementary projects like Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) also catalyse the impact of FSRP.
