AICCRA @ COP27: Pathways to Low-Emission and Resilient Livestock Agrifood Systems in Africa

The event will explore strategies to improve the efficiency and environmental sustainability of livestock production.

About the event

The African Union Climate Change and Resilient Development Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2032) recognizes that building climate-resilient dairy systems requires concerted and coordinated action. Disruptions of Africa’s livestock sector would profoundly affect the lives and livelihoods of small-scale farmers and livestock keepers, who are the backbone of the continent’s food production.

The event will explore strategies to improve the efficiency and environmental sustainability of livestock production. In addition, the event will explore the most effective solutions and what policies and commitments should be in place to promote approaches for better sectoral coordination and enable positive transformation in
the African livestock sector.
