Info and Matchmaking - AICCRA Ghana Accelerator Program

AICCRA Ghana has launched an Accelerator Program for individual businesses or consortia that can provide end–to–end solutions to accelerate the scaling of climate information services (CIS) and climate-smart agriculture (CSA) bundles in Ghana.

The Ghana team will host two info and matchmaking sessions - one virtual and one in-person - that will enable applicants to interact with the coordinators of the program, learn more about the program, and connect with other applicants.

About the Accelerator

Through a new Accelerator Program, AICCRA Ghana is looking for individual businesses or consortia (of up to 5 partners) that can provide end–to–end solutions for the following bundles:

CIS/CSA Bundle 1: Climate-Smart Integrated Pest Management – promote sustainable management of invasive and climate-driven crop pests and diseases through the deployment of low-toxicity pesticides, biopesticides, biological control and good agroecological practices with plant health benefits;

CIS/CSA Bundle 2: Solar Irrigation for female farmers - Improve resilience, yields and income through the deployment of solar irrigation solutions and supporting adaption through sustainable finance solutions and market access;

CIS/CSA Bundle 3: Smart Seed Packs and Market Systems for Smallholder Farmers – Improve access to stress and pest-tolerant seed varieties and associated agronomic practices to improve farmers’ resilience, yields, and income;

CIS/CSA Bundle 4:  Smart Productions and Soils - promote sustainable production and soil health by providing access to agro-advisories, sustainable mechanization technologies and nutrient management practices.

Through the Accelerator, AICCRA Ghana will support private sector companies to address development and business challenges related to scaling CIS and CSA technology bundles. Scaling refers to expanding CIS and CSA innovations through a market system approach into more areas and users.

Locally registered for-profit businesses and social enterprises that can provide end-to-end solutions are invited to submit proposals that address the multiple components of a bundle and present a cohesive market system approach to scaling the bundled solution. Businesses and social enterprises that are unable to provide an end-to-end solution individually are encouraged to partner with other businesses to form a consortium to present proposals that address the multiple components of a bundle and a cohesive market system for its scaling.

Application proposals must present activities that can catalyze adoption while improving inclusivity and supporting environmental sustainability.

Virtual and In-person sessions

There will be two (2) info and matchmaking sessions:

  • Session One will be a virtual meeting on July 25, 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 for applicants to meet the program's coordinators for the first time and connect with different businesses to find potential partners for collaborative proposals.
  • Session Two will be held in person on August 1, 2024,  from 14:00 to 16:00 for applicants to seek more information and build on connections they established through the virtual meetings. Applicants who missed the virtual meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with potential partners.

Events objectives

  • Applicants will interact with the program's coordinators to learn more about the program and the application process.
  • Applicants can connect with different businesses in each of the 'bundles' to build networks and find potential partners to deliver collaborative proposals with.

Who should attend?
