Bio

What’s your role at AICCRA and the journey that led you here?

I'm currently a member of the Independent Steering Committee (ISC). In terms of experience, I have been part of the Climate Change R4D group over the past 15 years and have been associated with groups like the West Africa Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and African Group of Negotiators Expert Support (AGNES) and more recently as Director of Research and Innovation at AfricaRice where I supervised the AfricaRice team implementing AICCRA activities in Mali. I am currently the Chief Agriculturist at the Sierra Leone Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security with a pivotal focus on transforming the country's food systems against the background of pervasive challenges including climate change.

Tell us why you think AICCRA can help deliver a climate-smart future for Africa?

Building on the foundation laid by CCAFS, AICCRA has a rich repository of knowledge on climate-smart agriculture and continues to develop tools that will foster the deployment and outscaling of climate-smart technologies across the African continent. Trusted partnerships embedded within AICCRA engagements will surely foster required collaboration to deliver a climate-smart future for Africa.
