Bio

What’s your role at AICCRA and the journey that led you here?

I lead the communications efforts of AICCRA Ethiopia and East and Southern Africa clusters by supporting the design and implementation of the communication strategy of the regional program. My role involves building multimedia narratives for climate-smart agriculture and climate information services across food systems and livelihoods, sharing knowledge, activities, outcomes, and initiatives at the local, regional and global levels.

I have been academically engaged and contributed to topics such as sustainable development, political ecology, and climate change advocacy. I hold a Master's in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester. Previously, I worked as a technical expert on different agriculture and environment-focused programs in an international cooperation context, having amassed over six years of experience executing agricultural and environmental initiatives in Ethiopia, Kenya, and the UK.

Tell us why you think AICCRA can help deliver a climate-smart future for Africa?

With much of Africa's population depending on agriculture, the marriage of science, innovation, and traditional knowledge needs to solidify to pave the way to a continent with a transformed and resilient food system and better management of climate change related risks. AICCRA aims to be the catalyst of this great ambition.
