Abstract
On 15th -19th January 2022, the International Research Institute for Climate and Society, the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research Institute, and the Ethiopian Meteorological Institute, in collaboration with AICCRA Eastern and Southern Africa program, delivered the Agricultural Drought Monitoring System Country-level ASIS Hands-on User Training and Launching Workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This user training was conducted to support the national institutions through the Columbia World Project of ACToday and AICCRA East Africa to improve the capacity of national institutions to strengthen their agricultural drought monitoring and early warning systems. Seventeen (three Females) participants (including researchers, operational seasonal forecasters, early warning experts and users, and decision-makers) were attended by the Ethiopian Meteorological Institute (EMI), the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), Ethiopian Disaster and Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) and the World Food Program (WFP).
