Abstract
The Forage Seed Certification Training and Policy Dialogue aimed to strengthen forage seed certification in Ethiopia by enhancing experts’ technical skills, identifying challenges, and developing strategies for revitalization. Experts from Federal and Regional regulatory authorities attended the three-day event, covering forage seed production practices, quality factors, disease inspection, laboratory testing, and policy frameworks. Key agreements reached among participants include the need for increased capacity building, improved access to quality forage seeds, and the urgent need for stronger enforcement of existing regulations. The workshop concluded with recommendations for future actions to strengthen the national forage seed certification system.
